Duane Lock is a Board Member and the President of Nexus Power Consulting, an entity focused on Renewable Energy and Brokering.  Duane has spent nearly three decades in the power industry with wholesale and retail experience in multiple deregulated and regulated energy markets. 

 

At Nexus, Duane has brokered and consulted with multiple commercial end-user clients with sustainability and renewable energy goals and interest in green power initiatives.  He is also an instrumental member of Nexus' Power Development team developing utility-scale projects including the Tyson Nick (110MW) solar project in ERCOT North Zone.

 

Duane is the Founder and President of River Oaks Energy, since 2004, which has represented numerous large organizations that account for an aggregate of 2.5 TWHs of electricity in over 12 states. He also worked at TXU Energy and Kansas City Power and Light, where he had direct responsibilities for all commercial retail customer contact, product development of commodity and value add products, sub-station design build services, and IDR (smart meter) data program roll-out for large customers. 

 

In addition, Duane is a Commissioner, Jail Standards, appointed by Gov Abbott to serve on the 9-member state-wide agency that regulates the 248 jails in Texas; a Board Member (Executive Committee), Volunteers of America, Texas; former board member/Trustee of Rockhurst University; and President/Board of University of Southern Mississippi Foundation.

 

He holds a BSBA Business degree from University of Southern Mississippi and an MBA from Rockhurst University and proudly served 4 years in the United States Marine Corps active reserve.
